Hi there!
I'm happy my repotted dendrobium nobile nobile not only did not die, but also has shown a lot of root growth and a second set of blooms for the year! But.. this is odd, looks like a root growing from the bloom point! It doesn't seem normal, maybe this orchid is the chosen one?!
What would cause this? Over fertilized? Amazing conditions? Stressful juju? Stay at home woes?! Here's the extent of my fertilizer application: soaked in kelpmax prior to new pot which was back in May. Then just watered with filtered tap water as needed. Flower buds emerged late July, and then I began adding k-lite fertilizer. I think 2-3 weeks ago I watered with leftover kelpmax.
Dilutions with kelp max were 1T to 1 gallon water; k-lite was 1/2t to 1 gallon water.
It's growing, so I'll take it, just curious what this is since I've not seen it before
