Phalenopsis Keiki question

This Keiki is about 1 1/4 years old. During this time it only produced 1 root last year which shriveled up shortly afterwards. Since then no new roots have emerged. It did sprout a new leaf this year but no roots . What's happening ? For the record I used keiki paste to produce this keiki.

Probably low humidity.

The room that this orchid is situated in averages 50% in the summer but does go down as low as 20-30% in the winter.
This humidity doesn't seem to hinder root development in the mother plant though. I also forgot to mention that the mother plant is also "supporting" a basal Keiki which also has no problems with root production. The Keiki pictured is on a flower spike from the mother plant and not the basal Keiki.

If the Keiki does require an even higher humidity than I described above should I wrap something around the Keiki to create a more humid environment for it ?

The hormones that lead to vegetative growth are different than the ones that stimulate roots.

Have you tried spraying the keiki with something like KelpMax?

I think it's the low humidity. The mother plant's roots are closer to the medium where humidity is higher.
