I have found that studying several sources is the best way to go. My go to is AOS.org. I also rely on a variety of Orchid Society sites. I do watch the youtube's of miss orchid girl but I weigh that advice against actual botanists and scientist's instructions. I like the practical 'how to's as in"how to reot a phal' and then actually watch the step by step process which is often not included in the culture sheets and related material.
However- your absolutely correct that relying upon one youtube source is dangerous. I appreciated the point that we're all constantly learning and growing in our knowledge and skills.
For example- things I did last year,(that I thought were correct) and now realize were wrong- had that been on the internet forever-Yikes!!!
Excellent discussion. That's why I love this site so much. We can all come together and respectfully share our knowledge and skills- and let me just say that I am so far behind most of you- but that's okay because that's how I learn-from you who are more advanced growers- so thank you!!!
