Wilted Mini-Phalaenopsis, Any Hope?

I bought this phalaenopsis from Trader Joe's yesterday and since it was so hot 100F, I put it right beside me in the car with the airconditioning blasting on it and I would turn off the engine and go down and do errands, where the car would turn scorching hot.

I was so stupid and didn't realize what I was doing. Anyway, today it wilted even more than yesterday.

What should I do? Is there a way to revive it? In order to prevent overwatering or rotting roots which has always been my problem, I put it in a plastic cup with lots of holes. And so, I watered it yesterday and then today again - immersing it in water for maybe 1/2 hour. The skewer was almost dry today.

Also why does watering other orchids on Friday afternoon in the extreme heat and watering it again yesterday - Sunday, cause the healthy empty stems to die and blooms to wilt? The pots I use have holes on the sides and bottom.
