Leafmites post is great. I would just add one trick on step three. After you have massaged the pot and inverted it, try a gentle twist. The roots that stick are often inclined to hold in one direction better than another. Once they are soaked and soft the twist can help them release the plastic. I also use a plant tag instead of a butter knife, it’s a little thinner and has more give.
