Default Will keiki paste make eyes

If I take a small sliver from the rhizome and apply keiki paste would this induce eyes on the cattleya. What would be a good discription of a eye on a rhizome.

I always thought the "eyes" were protrusions on the plant from which rhizomes grow, not part of the rhizome itself.

In any case, I would not remove anything, just apply the keiki paste to the base of the growth and hope for the best.

If you remove "eyes" from the mother plant, you have to go for tissue culture. That means disinfecting the tissue without killing it (that's the difficult part) and culture it under aseptic conditions on an appropriate medium. In this case instead of keiki paste you use BAP in the medium formulation.
As Ray said if you want to go the easy way using keiki paste do not remove anything and do not apply lots of paste. Keiki paste the size of an o should do it.
