Hi I'm new. Can I know why is there a growth under my Catasetum pot? Does Catasetum has a rhizomes root?

Hi there Gummy. It's hard to say right now, as the image is only 179 × 239 pixels in size. Eg. it's like trying to see somebody's face with our own eyes from 50 metres away heheheh.

If you wait for maybe another 1 week or 2 weeks, you'll have a very good idea of what that is.

At the moment, let's assume a root. This is assuming that growth is actually a part of your catasetum plant.

Which part of the pot are those holes located? Side? Bottom?

Also, one pot is translucent. The other is black-coloured.

Welcome to the Orchid Board!

It looks to me like a new vegetative growth. Catasetums can send them downwards as well as sideways.

It does look like a new growth but it will be interesting to see if it can get far enough through that hole to actually develop a robust pseudobulb.
