So it might be trying to adjust for the new environment but I had this plant under my care for little over two weeks. Does it take that long to still suffer from a new environment? I'll still take measures to retain humidity but I'll try my best to dodge the dreaded black rot

If it's 80% humidity that's fine. Vanilla is adaptable to temperatures. The roots might have been damaged in transit.

Two weeks is nothing in the life of an orchid. They don't do anything fast. Feedback loop is more like 6 months to a year. Orchids teach patience. (For what it is worth, the only botanical "project" that is more glacial is bonsai...)

Yeah that's true. Okay so I have made a mini greenhouse using a plastic bin with holes at the top. I'll wait and see the results. Thanks again for the advice
