Quiltergal and Orchidhunter said it very well. There is something about knowing the lineage that I find kind of neat.

The reason I like species, is that they grow somewhere in the wild, all by themselves! That is more of the reason I love species orchids and native landscape plants. It ties us to past centuries and a long list of men and women that came many years before us and the orchidboard! Wow, what a thought. That's deep, orchidhunter.
