Hello,
I like the orchidaruim and was wondering if there is something between the lights and the orchidarium that keeps the humidity in - like a piece of plastic or does the humidity just rise out the top. Thanks

sorry I am late in responding been out working in the yard The Orchidarium does have a piece of plexiglass or something like that between the lights and the orchids. There are two sliding doors in that you can open to regulate the amount of heat there is also a vent on the very top of the unit to allow heat to escape.

The front door is of similar material and it slides back and forth. No more wheels. It is very clear so it is hard to see on the Orchidarium website.

My unit maintains apprx. 80 to 90 % humidity and the interior temps usually 80 to 85 degrees. At night I open the front door a bit and open the top vent to allow the temp to drop the 10 to 15 degrees they need.

The orchids in there are putting out new growth as well as tons of roots and they are lovin it as much as I do

Cool Orchidaruim

Am I thinking right that you are or have purchased an Orchidarium? The instructions will tell you once you have it together what vents to open. You will have a ball and become a Watcher

OK here are some of the door and the ceiling of the orchidarium. The door is very clear so it is hard to see. Where my hand is on either side and the middle is the door which slides left or right. Some warping occurs so every so often you just slide the door off and turn in around and but it back in. You will also see a of the ceiling vent on one side and the temp and humidity moniter.

Enjoy

Wow, that door is REALLY clear! I could literally not see the door until you took a photo with your hand behind it. Makes for a stunning display.

Thank you for taking the photos, Sheridan. The stats sound great, so your orchids must be in heaven. What a beautiful unit. I've gotta start saving my pennies now!

Sheridan- I really like your Bllra! I didn't know that their flowers were so large! I may have to buy one soon . Are they considered difficult to grow?

I like your orchidarium by the way

Sheela well we love you too
(..._...) Glad you like my Bllra I purchased it at our new Trader Joe's they have quite a selection of orchids. This is my second and my first is much larger and has not bloomed yet (2 years) But this new one is much smaller and I have hopes being in the Orchidarium will do wonders for it.
