I enquired about a number of Oncidium intergenerics (mostly ones that used to be called Wilsonara or Vuylstekeara) from Russ Bolt at Looking Glass Orchids. Anybody ever bought from him? I'm not really familiar with his operation. He just has a list of available plants on his website, no size or prices, so I emailed him what I'm interested in, and I'm waiting to hear back from him about sizes and prices. It everything seems reasonable and customary, I'll probably buy six or eight from him and put them in SH.
Hausermann is a little behind on fulfilling orders, so you probably still have time to ask him to add to your order. I did that the last order I placed with him. It was several days after I had placed my order and I emailed him and asked if he could add a plant to my order if he had not packed my box yet, and he had not, so I got the plant, so you still have time. But waiting until fall is probably the wisest decision, but waiting sucks too haha. But you're probably right to wait.

I grew mine indoors in semi-hydro, very easy plant in my experience compared to others but I think my conditions favor intermediate temperature loving plants. Be careful with the spikes, I broke 2 spikes off before I actually witnessed the blooms because they grow so big and take so long to develop.

The one I have in semi hydro is growing about twice as fast as the one I have in bark, so I believe you 100%

They are water hogs. Once the plant became specimen sized it could be watered multiple times a day when in active growth and I felt like I was barely keeping up. They are really good growers, you should have no problem flowering yours. I checked my records: it took 2.5 months from spike to bloom for me. The substance of the flowers is extremely nice and can only be appreciated in person.

Wow that is an amazing plant. Maybe I need to be watering the one in bark more. Maybe that's why the one in SH is growing so much faster than the one in bark. That really is an awesome plant, and I hope to have one like that someday. You did a great job with it.

Just research the parents. Ross grande and Ross williamsianum. Look where and how they grow. This plant does not need cool and to thrive it just needs min 12-14c.

I think the cool/intermediate/warm descriptors often get misused or at least confused and/or misunderstood.
To some - and I think correctly, as claypot has suggested - the temperature designation refers to nighttime requirements, while others feel is it an indicator of the temperature at which the plants are to be grown.
Certainly, a “cool-growing” plant will not prefer hot days, but it will likely tolerate them if the nighttime temperatures are correct.
