Fantastic species. Huge flower for the plant size, and Angraecums with a bit of color are a treat too... love the pure white ones of course, but this one really stands out.

I did also end up getting all the cyrtorchis I listed.
What I am interested in now is something called a Rangaeris. They have 2 at SBOE. Unfortunately, they are quite expensive.

I'm sorry, Roberta. I had laughed at your comment about a commission and was just joking in return. I intended no disrespect.
I am grateful for the joy you spread when you shared your orchid. We all are excitedly anticipating the arrival of a new-to-us orchid, we've had a heck of a lot of fun on this thread, and as you said, we've helped out some good vendors who undoubtedly need help right now.

I happened to find a Cyrtorchis chailluana on eBay and bought it since I missed out on the Podangis fun. It's currently potted in a 2" net pot with bark inside a 2.5" plastic pot. The exterior pot is filled with roots, hard to tell how good they are. Should I get a bigger net pot and drop it in with some bark?
I was thinking it would be fun to mount on a jungle log but would have to extract from pots to do so.
The blooms look awesome, looking forward to this one blooming in the future!

I'd get that outer 2.5" pot off and leave the little net pot, then move it up to a bigger net pot with bark. That will also give you a chance to get a good look at the roots. Those little net pots don't get in the way, the plant just grows around them. If you do want to get rid of it, just cut it (in as many places as needed) and it's easy to get the pieces out without damaging roots. It would certainly lend itself to a jungle log. Just take a look at what the roots look like when you get the pot off. (Again, if it doesn't come off easily, just cut the pot) Mine is in bark, in a pot - but is putting out a new root so I likely will repot it (or basket) once I see what it has done so far.

That's one thing I really like about stuff coming in net pots. SO easy to remove. All my water garden marginal plants came in net pots. Make life much easier to transplant or pot up a size.

Posting a few pics, the roots are looking pretty good, I trimmed some dead ones but there weren't many.
The only net pots I have are 4" at the moment, I'm not sure if that would be too big of a jump or not. The roots certainly fit inside it easily.

I think the 4 inch net pot would be fine. The bark will be loose, so plenty of air. "Overpotting" is really in issue mostly in solid pots, where you don't want a wet, airless space in the middle. In a net pot or basket, there's plenty of air circulation. That's a great-looking plant.

I apologize to revive an old thread but I just bought an Cyrtorchis chailluana at Cal Orchid today. They have an event going this weekend and will have an open house in November.
Cyrtorchis chailluana was labeled fragrant with flowers that open white and mature to orange. I would assume it is only fragrant at night.
