Catasetums staying wet too long

I have a Catasetum potted in a 5" slotted plastic pot in sphagnum moss. Around a month ago I had a cool, dark spell, and it would stay wet for around 2 weeks (or more) after watering. I fear that given how early in the growing season it was, it may have stalled and/or rotted the new roots. Does anyone else have this issue? how can I fix it? or should I not worry?

Probably not helpful for you but mine are grown outdoors. I use fine bark, charcoal, sponge rock mix with a few sprigs of sphagnum throughout in a terra cotta clay pot on a hanger. Get watered 2X/day and have never had a rot issue.

There are sev. Ctsm. growers who are more experienced than moi on OB but my quick go-to for info is Sunset Valley Orchids - Superior Hybrids for Orchid Enthusiastsrun by Fred Clarke,well known grower and hybridizer. I refer to his notes freq. since I've only been trying these a short while.

How is the visible plant doing now? If it is growing normally, I wouldn't stress too much. If the plant is not growing, you may see some new roots sprouting at the base that will help fix the situation. At any rate, new roots can appear any time during the growth cycle, so with any luck, the plant will take care of itself.

It seems to be growing pretty well, it still has decent roots (mostly from last year). It has one maturing growth (slowly thickening, but I think it might end up a bit skinny) and 1 or 2 extra growths coming off of it.

I grow mine outdoors when temps get warm enough. As far as "too wet", mine sit in trays with a couple inches of water in them from shortly after they go outside until the leaves start yellowing at the end of the season. And considering that I grow them in pure composted cow manure, I can't imagine they could get much wetter unless I put them in my pond.
