As for delayed blooming.... potted flowers intended for indoor display are forced. Perhaps orchids are not forced per se, but bulk raised phals are going to be coming out of ideal conditions and have to adapt to living in a house instead of a greenhouse with drip irrigation and perfect temperature and humidity. It's a big change.

Indeed, temperature and humidity. And you're correct, plus Phals are also "forced" by growers to being tricked into blooming at ideal times via temperature manipulation.
And as your Phal adapts, it will grow right along with you. In your particular environment. Patience... always key with any orchid. Enjoy.
