Thanks Ray, that helps a lot. I "jerry rigged," a too small clear plastic bag by splitting it up the sides and using roller plastic and clear tape, made it to fit over the orchid and the container. Next time I will immerse the whole plant, if it happens again, and turn upside down to drain.

I have one other mini phal that only has two healthy roots that are trying to go air. Would it be alright to dunk the whole plant for a couple of hours? it doesnt have any new leaves growing. It is warm and high humidity and good light where I have her. but she is not limp. just not as shiny and healthy looking as my others in the same area.
