Monnierara Millennium Magic Witchcraft- to buy or not to buy
Hello everyone,
I've been growing a few happy phales for a few years and I've managed not to kill a Zygopetalum that I got last year...so you know a little bit about my experience with orchids...
I've recently got in love with Monnierara millennium magic witchcraft but I am quite concerned if I'll be able to give it the conditions that it requires. From what I've read it's completely different from what I have and, while I can adjust the watering/feeding, there is not too much I can do about light/temperature. The window is south facing so it might be fine, but I couldn't find anything specific about the temperature ("warm" meaning is not really clear for me and London is not a particularly warm place even in summer).
Is there anyone able to help me understand what I need, maybe compared to the species I already have?
Thanks.
Catalina.

Some nice details can be found for suitable temperature ranges from google: eg. 'catasetum growing temperature'.

If you have the phals growing then it is warm enough in your home.
I have this plant and it is an awesome flower. They won’t care about the winter as they will be dormant and I feel like if you can grow a phal (they are super warmth lovers) then you can swing this plant.

Thanks a lot...it feels a little bit encouraging.
I've just read this on the AOS website:
"During this growing period, day temperatures of 80° to 100° F and night temperatures of 60° to 65° F are beneficial. After growths mature, temperatures can be reduced to 55° F at night, with day temperatures of 70° to 85° F."
And I was about to give up on the idea...100°F is the maximum temperature ever recorded in London🙂

I grow MMMW in indoor temps. My house doesn't really go beyond 67F-81F

Thanks...I'm going to order it and hope for the best.
One more question, since you both have it, I've read in quite a few places that is fragrant...though the seller told me it isn't, is it possible for someone of them to have a scent and the rest of them not?

I have a tiny one that have not bloomed and a nice sized one that has only bloomed once with a no discernible scent. I garden at night though so I often miss out on the scented orchids...

If MMMW does have a scent, it's not something that like fills a room when you walk into it. I don't recall a scent at all, really...
