Jackfowlieara/Iwanagara Apple Blossom
Hello all,
I have finally caved to the hype I’ve heard surrounding this cattleya. I plan on getting the infamous apple blossom and it seems there are a few for sale online in-spike. Before I press the “buy” button on this plant, is there a particular clone that is especially good? The most important thing to me is fragrance and I know sometimes some clones of particular orchids are more/less/differently fragrant. Is there a particular clone I should be looking out for to get “the full apple blossom experience”?

I have several clones, all of which are fragrant. 'Hihimanu' and 'Fantasy' are the most powerfully fragrant per flower, but 'NN' makes up for it with the number of blooms per spike. I have a clone I got from Sophie's Orchids which is similar to appearance to 'Fantasy' but darker in color. It's nicely fragrant. I'm still waiting on 'Carmela' from Carmela's Orchids to bloom, but I've heard it is very fragrant. The only clone I'm aware of that isn't is the one I got as a Better Gro bag baby labeled 'C'. I gave that one away

Right now, the only clones I can find for sale are Golden elf, H&R, John Walters, and Kalei Pink. Are any of those good?

I’ve read that Golden Elf is not fragrant, if that’s a concern.

Mine is very fragrant, moreso than my Kalei Pink actually. I've read fragrance intensity can be hit or miss. |

An in-spike “Fantasy” just popped up on eBay so I bought it. I’m excited for it to come!
