Vanilla parvifolia difference from V. planifolia?

I just received several very healthy cuttings of V. parvifolia. I cannot find any information on this variety of vanilla. Should I treat it differently then I would a V. planifolia? Does anyone have any experience with this variety? Or advice?

Can you please tell me about what you did with the totem there?

Is it secured to the bottom of the pot? Or just held in place by the medium? How tall is it? And, lastly, what kind of wood is it?

Than you Susan! That is helpful. It looks like the growing conditions are very similar to what I have read about V. planifolia.

It is an old locust fence post that is a bit over 4' tall.
I just stuck it in the pot. A bit over 3' is sticking out of the soil. The bottom is held in place with 6-8" of stone. I considered mixing cement an perlite and setting it, but it seems pretty sturdy with just the stone.
