I have a bit of a noob-ish question:
Is there a specific pattern in which orchids grow? ie: new roots, then leaves, then flowers..new leaves, then roots, then flowers, etc...or is it random?
Just curious, as I have several Phals that are throwing out tons of new roots, and some that are growing leaves and roots together. Wondering if I can view this as a sign that a new flower spike will soon emerge? Im glad that they are doing anything, really. I re-planted most of them and they kind of pouted for several months following the re-potting process.
Also, I have a NoID Phal I bought post-bloom at Lowe's for like 5 bucks. It seemed that there were actually several plants in one pot, but when I got it home and really looked at it, it was one plant with 2 new plants growing out of the main plant. (hard to explain without a picture...imagine instead of a new flower spike coming out the side of the plant, a whole new multi-leaf plant is growing)
Thanks for any input
