Is this sunburn on B. Little Stars? Female
Default Is this sunburn on B. Little Stars?

Hey everyone,

I have been keeping this B. Little Stars in a south facing window this winter and I've notice a few of the leaves have turned a purplish color (see photo). Is this sunburn or normal if they're getting enough light?

its anthocyanin pigments which act as a sunscreen for plants capable of producing them. it means your cattleya is getting a good amount of light. make sure that your plant is well fed under high light conditions, higher rates of photosynthesis/respiration will drive up nutrient needs.
