C. mayeriana culture issues - new to this genus

So I just got this Coelogyne mayeriana and already things are not going well. Just noticed that the plant’s new shoot is browning and yellowing, and also noticed some browning on one of the mature bulbs.

I have it in an eastern exposure in our bathroom and the window is frosted, so the light is diffuses. What’s going on here — too much water/humidity? Too much light? Need some help!

The yellowing on the new growth looks like a fungal or bacterial infection. This is fairly common in Coelogynes unfortunately because of the way the new leaves curl into a tube which traps water easily.

Oh shoot, okay. So, (a) can this plant generally be saved, and (b) is a dose of Physan a good place to start?

You can almost certainly save it, that growth will likely be lost but it will probably send out a new one. Physan is certainly a good start, you could also use cinnamon as well, just pour/dust any suspicious looking areas.
