Hello everyone, new member as title indicates.
Rescued a couple orchids which were not doing well, and are responding pretty good in my opinion, to basic care and a little attention.
I have had these for about a year. Leaves were discolored and leathery. Roots were also rotten in places, and had no green color.
After trimming, repotting, and occasional soaking, I can't believe how lucky I was when everybody started perking up and shooting flower spikes out.
I was looking to find some info on a few growths on my flower spikes and have come up blank on all my searches. All growths are on terminus end of flower spike, and was wondering if these are possibly the beginnings of kekeis?
Also have what appears to be a growth on the end of a cut flower spike which I hope is a kekei, also. I wrapped it up in a ziploc with sphagnum, and am hoping for a kekei.
Main question being, will I be waiting for the end of blooming season for vegetative/ reproductive growth from the growths on the ends of my flower spikes?
Sorry no photos till I figure out how to load images from my tablet.
Maybe someone can help me out?
Thanks in advance!

3 phal and one mini phal.
Tried to post my pics and URL number was requested. My limited computer experience left me baffled at this. On other forums, when attempting to post a pic, I am directed to a prompt asking whether I want to upload from computer or URL and I use " from computer " and I get to post pics.
I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually.

windowsill, what do you mean 'end of blooming season'? Is your orchid currently in blioom?

From what I've learned, phals bloom in fall and winter. Shorter days, cooler temps. Seems to be correct as all 4 of mine are currently blooming.
Do they (phals) produce kekeis during the bloom cycle? I understand there are exceptions to the rule, but..... generally?

Form what I have learned so far keiki could be produced at any time, it may be a sign that something is wrong with a plant. Most orchids never produce any, some are prone to making them. Are you sure that a root system of your orchid is in a good shape?

Root systems are a whole lot better than when I got them. A little cleanup, along with repot with fresh sphagnum has done wonders. Leaves are now plump, strong, and dark olive green. Plants are heavy. (Not just from the moist sphagnum)
Roots are now in transparent containers and are a nice green, thick appearance.
A little more work is needed, I think, as the uppermost air roots have a little discoloration. I didn't want to shock the plant too much at repot so I only cleaned up this yucky stuff below the "pot line."
Here's a pic.

Yay!! Got a couple pics inserted into original post. A little sideways, but....... Good enough.
Small growths on terminus of flower spikes, adjacent to last flower...... possible kakei?
All 3 full size phals have them.
Appear to be tiny clenched leaflets on end of stalk.
Here's a close up.
