Hello everyone, new member as title indicates.
Rescued a couple orchids which were not doing well, and are responding pretty good in my opinion, to basic care and a little attention.
I have had these for about a year. Leaves were discolored and leathery. Roots were also rotten in places, and had no green color.
After trimming, repotting, and occasional soaking, I can't believe how lucky I was when everybody started perking up and shooting flower spikes out.
I was looking to find some info on a few growths on my flower spikes and have come up blank on all my searches. All growths are on terminus end of flower spike, and was wondering if these are possibly the beginnings of kekeis?
Also have what appears to be a growth on the end of a cut flower spike which I hope is a kekei, also. I wrapped it up in a ziploc with sphagnum, and am hoping for a kekei.
Main question being, will I be waiting for the end of blooming season for vegetative/ reproductive growth from the growths on the ends of my flower spikes?
Sorry no photos till I figure out how to load images from my tablet.
Maybe someone can help me out?
Thanks in advance!
