I'm not sure what the medium is...I know it has pine bark and I'm not sure if the moss has grown over time or if it's part of the medium.
I think the 4th photo shos a new root (white dot at the right side of the new growth).

I think go ahead and repot it. Then you will have a medium that you know.

Done...by the time I put the plant in the new pot, I saw it was too small for it. The only available I had that could be used it was too large...as this plant likes large amounts of water and should never dry out, I decided to use it. At least during summer, with HR lower than 20%, it will be ok, I think.

The mix I've used for the medium is bark+10% LECA+20% coco chips+10% perlite+30%sphagnum moss, all mixed.

It almost didn't have any medium in the old pot but it looked like soil but its quantity was less than a soup spoon....all the rest were roots, all healthy (as I was busy repoting, didn't took any photos).

These can really grow quickly... the larger pot was a good choice. Also, the shape (wider at the top, narrow at the bottom) is great. If the pot, at that width, were cylindrical, there would be a concern of too much medium . But this one, I think is perfect - room to spread out - which it will - but not too much in the root zone.

First blooms, one and a half months after I got it.
It seems to have some discolor in its background.
It also has new growths and what seems to be a new flower spike in its early stages (last photo).

Do you know the name? Could also have some amazonica in there. Would be interesting to know the cross...would also give an indication of cold tolerance (discolor can grow cool, amazonica is warm for instance)

I don't have a name, Roberta.

I think this plant needs a lot more humidity as its sepals are too curved back.
