How to differentiate C. labiata, gaskelliana, jenmanii and lueddemanniana?
Default How to differentiate C. labiata, gaskelliana, jenmanii and lueddemanniana?

Hi All,

I was trying to spot the differences between C. labiata, gaskelliana, jenmanii and lueddemanniana from their flowers but i was so confused. They have similar lips and colors as well as petals.

Can anyone guide me?

Thanks you very much.

I will not claim to know much on this subject, but more than just the appearance and color of the flower is used to separate them - stuff like region of origin, scent, blooming habit and timing, etc.

As they are all part of the Cattleya labiata group, without a great deal of differences of structure or appearance, some have suggested they are actually different varieties of the same species.
