Phal. Tying Shin Fly Eagle vs Phal. bellina

Hi All,

Anyone has any experience with both Phal. Tying Shin Fly Eagle and Phal. bellina?

I would like to know which has more intense fragrant?

And does Phal. Tying Shin Fly Eagle has more blooms at anyone time?

My Tying Shin Fly Eagle scent is that of speciosa - in my view less pleasant than bellina. It is much more floriferous than bellina because of the speciosa influence with multiple spikes flowering at the same time.

I have both, though my Flying Shin was more established when I bought it than my bellina. I haven't been able to bloom my bellina yet (may not be warm enough, but it was an import so it's re-establishing itself). But my Flying Shin had multiple spikes and blooms, and I love the fragrance. I can't compare to bellina though...sorry.

Thanks for the sharing, i appreciate it though. I have a P. bellina too. I gave it maximum light it can get (under my car porch and as further out as possible until the leaves are light green). It blooms for me non stop from May-Nov last year but with only 1-2 bloom at a time, one after another. Wish you all the luck

Thanks. I grow all my orchids indoors, so maybe that's the issue. Then again, it's much cooler here in California than it is in Malaysia. I'm just hoping it'll do better next year.

Ya, as far as i know P. bellina requires temperature drop between night and day to trigger blooms. If you grow indoors, u can still adjust the light exposure so i guess the more challenging part is the temperature drop.
