Quick question about my a little Aerangis luteo-alba v. rhodisticta. Does anyone have any first hand experience with the upper levels of temperatures that this thing can handle? I have been growing this species for the past year and a half on a moderately bright bathroom windowsill. It is potted in a 2” clay pot with a few large chunks of bark to stabilize it. It’s been doing ok, has a new growth, nice root system, and is currently in spike (possibly 2 spikes). I would prefer to keep this outside most of the year because the humidity is so much better and to take advantage of the rain. I have been hesitant to move it because of my summer temps. June-September it is typically 90-95F (30-35C) in the day and about 85F (29C) at night.

It seems like this is a mid elevation plant and I don’t know how much I can push it. Some orchids I can, some I can’t... My other Aerengis/Angraecum types: Mystacidium braybonae, Angrecum distichum, Angrecum sesquipedale the are from moderate to low elevations and those are doing great outdoors. I also have an Angraecum leonis that is surviving, not thriving, but I’m not sure if it is the Madagascar variety or the Comoros.

Don't have a bit of advice here as I'm struggling with an Angraecum florulentum. Had it about 2 yrs and it came potted. I recently put it into slatted wood basket with some s/m and small bark. Hangs in shadier south window,~80 deg. and watered as it approaches dry. Comoros variety. Looks like old buds dried up but dummy here had it too close to growlights first time around. Give me some luck!

Good luck!! I’m thinking my leonis is probably from the Comoros Islands, too. It just has not done well at all for the past two years and, now that I think about it, I believe the listing said something about it being the larger variety (the sea level Madagascar one is smaller, I think). It’s been hanging in a shallow plastic Vanda basket, only has a few good roots, barely grows at all in the summer, and just looks pretty sad. I guess it’s time to put that one in a pot and move it to the bathroom! I just have such a hard time remembering to water anything growing inside
