Is it ok to water your orchids twice a week in the summer months. Im in the uk and my orchids dry out very quick.

There are a lot of factors to consider: which orchids, temps, humidity, type of pot/mounted, type of medium.
Give us some more info about it.

If they're drying out, then yes you can water more often. The important thing is to water when the plant needs it, and not according to a fixed schedule.

Some of my orchids are getting watered every day right now. Granted, I'm in Ohio and the temps here are much warmer than what you're probably seeing but, if your orchids are drying out faster, then yes, you want to water more often.

Drying out doesn't mean look dry. The medium surface might look dry but deep inside it might not be.

Tho other piece of "it depends" is the medium. Large bark dries out fast. Loosely-packed sphaghnum dries out fast, more tightly packed takes longer. So Camille is spot-on... water when they need it, not because it's Tuesday...

How often you water will depend on a number of factors specific to your personal growing conditions. You can have two orchids right next to each other, and one may need water while the other does not. I agree with what others have expressed here. You should water each plant when it needs it and not according to a fixed schedule. I have some that need water about every other day, and some that can go almost a week. I look at all of my plants pretty much every day to decide if there's anything they need.

When I repot, I choose a medium that will give the results that I want, based on a single watering schedule - plants that need to dry out go into a basket with large bark or mounted. Those that need to stay wet may get sphagnum in a plastic pot. That way, I have to make the decision about once every two or three years, instead of every day. Everybody within an area gets the same watering, but each gets the effect that they want. With a large collection, it's vital. With a small one (which no doubt will get larger) you think about the needs of each type of orchid and uncomplicate your life.
