Katrina beat me to the punch! Was just gonna say... Well for PeteSake, at least plant it in a pot! LOL... I can imagine already the roots circling round in that poor pot. Costco has some great big pots for $15 if ya have one near you.
The shade cloth... Excellent! Exactly the sort of thing I do. Would show you my thrift store sheer curtain setup from this spring, complete with PVC pipe fittings, but can't find it. (Which lasted just long enough to do its job, then blew away with a strong storm. All salvaged for a do-over next spring. )
