This makes me happy! This is the second orchid I've gotten to bloom since my addiction started a little over one year ago.
I purchased it as an Oncidium (Hawaiian Gold), Is it actually a brassovala? Is Brassovala part of the Oncidium alliance?
I'd appreciate if anyone can identify.
Thanks.

Looks like Brassavola or perhaps Brassidium to me.

It looks like Brassia or Brassidium to me. I looked up the name Hawaiian Gold in Orchidwiz and found 13 different plants with that name...none of them look like this plant!

I'm thinking the tag is totally incorrect Sorry

It's lovely though

It's not a Brassavola for sure. They're in the Catt alliance. Probably a Brassia, or Brassidium hybrid of some sort. It's very nice.

Congratulations! I can't help with the identification, but it looks pretty large...how big is the plant?

Thanks for sharing,

Thanks everybody.
Whatever the plant id is, it's nice. This is the second orchid for me that I purchased at an orchid class at a local nursery last year.
Plant has a very light unique fragrance, p-bulbs are about 4" long, leaves are about 14" and flowers are about 10" from tip to tip. I also thought it looked like a brassia. Is brassia part of the oncidium alliance?
