I just purchased another Oncidium intergeneric in spike (buds but no flowers - assuming they don't blast do to environment change ). The label says Ons. Wildcat 'Wite Fairy' (a misprint meaning White Fairy?). I know that its care is basically like any Oncidium i.e. intermediate temps, lots of water now that warm weather and growing season is now upon us and more sun than a Phal but not as much as a Cattleya.
When I try looking up information via Google I get Degarmoara Winter White Fairy. I have to ask. Is this part of the "RHS name game" again or am I barking up the wrong tree?
What you need to look for is Ons. (Oncostele, formerly Colmanara) Wildcat. That is the registered name. All Ons. Wildcats will need the same care. Cultivar names in 'single quotes' are not registered, given by anyone at any time. Don't blame RHS for that. It probably is 'White Fairy' but only the supplier would know for sure, and they probably don't care.
