East X West facing windows depend on the hemispheres? Female
Default

Yes, the sun does still rise in the east in the southern hemisphere. But it is not uncommon to have temperatures close to 30 Celsius in the morning where I live, which is why it made me think if the east window would indeed be a wise decision, since the plant could end up getting very intense direct sunlight around midmorning.
Since this is the beginner section and the forum encourages to not be ashamed of having questions, I thought I could ask. I am glad that I did, because I got some good answers and suggestions that went beyond telling me where the sun rises.
Thank you all

You must be somewhere in the vicinity of Recife - lovely town.

For the indoor, moderate-light plants, east is probably the best direction, and if you're concerned about midday direct sunlight, you might consider keeping the plants back from the window a bit, or behind a sheer curtain.

Have you considered vandas? They love heat and sunlight, andnif you're able to water them a lot, they'll grow like weeds for you.

Thank you for asking the question about east/west facing windows in the nthrn hemisphere. I’ve wondered the same thing for a long time but never asked.
