Buds of May
It's been a year since recovery efforts went into place. Now being rewarded with 2 beautiful buds. Curious how long buds typically take to open. It's been about 2 weeks since the buds first came visible.

Shouldn't be too long now. Maybe a couple more days. The buds will likely start to change orientation, with tips of buds not pointing upwards ----- which will likely be the time that they'll start to open.
One thing is - avoid moving the plant around too much (or at all) during the bud period.

Thankyou SouthPark. Is avoiding movement primarily to allow for common/natural orientation of flowers?

A beautiful save! Well done! Those buds do look close, but they can tease you... so patience, they look excellent.

If you move buds from one temperature to another they may drop. That is a great job rescuing.

Willy ---- E.S. made that important comment about the temperature changes. That's really important.
Just like in our own body, the plant has chemical/bio etc processes going on in there. The orchid's buds have activity happening in there.
If for example there is a significant change in temperature at some significant rate, then that could sometimes impact negatively certain processes, which could lead increase chances of unwanted outcomes. It doesn't always mean it will lead to unwanted outcomes ----- but it can significantly cut down on chances of unwanted outcomes like bud issue.

Thankyou all for your feedback and kind words. This little girl came with us on every camping trip last year as we worked to bring her back to health. We were extremely surprised to see buds after it had only grown one leaf and pseudobulb prior to what we have now. So needless to say we are anxiously awaiting the moment it reveals it's inner beauty.

One thing that annoys the heck out of me is reading a post where one is given recommendations but fails to provide follow up on the outcome of acted upon recs. Although I have provided some I realized I failed to actually post a pic of my recovery when fully flowered. This girl has bloomed twice for me, both with 2 flowers, and is now budding with quintuplets. Thank you all for your help!
