Question Are these roots dead?

I’ve heard you can bring an orchid back to life if the roots are still alive. These is a little green on these roots but are they dead???

Hard to tell. There's not much detail in the image which is only a tad larger than the thumbnail. I'd say odds are good they are dead, but if you're seeing green, they may still have some living cells. Debatable whether that means they're actually alive in a colloquial sense.

It might just be algae. Soak it for 10 minutes or so, if the roots feel firm, there’s likly some life left. If they’re soft and squishy, they’re dead.

The plant looks dead to me. I don't think that one is capable of coming back.
