Default Maxillaria gigantea Native To?

I would like to know where the above orchid is native to. I don't find it on ISOPE nor on a list of species found in Valle Del Cauca, Colombia where I've found the plant.

Ok I see it is now Ornithidium aureum and that does appear in the list for Valle Del Cauca, Colombia.

Here's a tip...

They're intermediate growers (65 F - 85 F). Extremes are not really tolerated very well.

Sounds about right.

Wish they could grow in my backyard without me purchasing them!
