Default Dendrobium unicum help

Hey all, I have a dendrobium unicum and need some advice. I've had it for about nine months and is in bud right now. A couple of weeks ago I noticed a new growth starting and was quite excited. Last week as I was reaching to get another orchid the unicum fell of its mount and I broke off the new growth. I gave it a squirt of Physan and all seems well. the new cane was really, really small, just a green little bump. My question is will it start a new growth or just skip that part this growth cycle? I've also have had a few buds blast since the fall so I think its a little traumatized.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

No worries. It should push out some more new growths. There are usually several dormant eyes at the base and this can also make keikis. There is still plenty of time for this to grow. Mine will usually continue to send out new growths well into the summer. Great job in getting it to bloom!

Unicum has a very distinct growth/dormancy cycle. When it started putting out new growths, mine would produce several each growth cycle. I wouldn't worry too much.
