Hey guys! Not going to go into too much detail but this is a link that REALLY has helped me lately. Between trying to purchase supplies to trying to understand foot-candles it has given me a base line to go off of! I definitely suggest any beginner grower to thumb through it!

It briefly covers the most common medias and there characteristics. Gives the foot candles for each type of orchid and what percent of sun this equals during summer and winter. Just lots of stuff that I was sitting there thinking Oh! That's what that is!

It also basically provides a culture sheet for the most common orchid genres all in one plus glossary etc. great to print out and have handy!

That is a good, reasonable beginners guide. Thanks for the link.

I would say that although the fertilizer ratios given are reasonable, no information is given regarding dilution and frequency. Dilute, and often, while actively growing is generally the way to go.

Ya! They only have about one line where it says they are use to getting small amounts of nutrients on nearly a continuous basis....definitely could have specified a little better like you said!

I just was so confused on how I hadn't found this sooner! Glad others are enjoying it though!
