Dendrophylax funalis grew great outdoors in my warmer (and cooler) inland SoCal conditions for more than a year. But then I had to get greedy and try to coax even more growth from it by giving it even more direct sun (more warmth), which is how I killed it. Ever since then I've been meaning to get it again from the Santa Barbara Orchid Estate.

Jeff Maude, recently purchased a couple Dendrophylax sallei x lindenii. He has them both outside but plans to bring one inside during the winter.
He's right by the coast though so it will be interesting if they will get enough warmth.
For around a decade I've been growing Microcoelia exilis outside year around. Strong grower and easy bloomer with super microscopic flowers which somehow manage to get pollinated. A couple times I sent pods to
Marni Turkel and she ended up with some seedlings.
A few months ago I did a very terrible job of dividing it. Should have had a dozen divisions but only around 5 survived my butchery. I plan on auctioning a couple established divisions in my local plant group on Facebook.
It's a fun plant to grow because virtually all my visitors scratch their heads so much when I ask them to guess what it is. Perhaps it isn't quite as much fun as when visitors try my Surinam cherries.
