Central Ohio Orchid Society January 2017 meeting?
Is there anyone here from the Central Ohio Orchid Society? I was going to join in November, but I was super sick for the November meeting. I would like to try January, but the webpage still says your next meeting is in November. When is your January meeting?

Katrina belongs there. It looks like they meet every third Thursday, probably somewhere between 6:45 and 7:00. Hopefully, Katrina will see this and let you know.

Thanks, Leaf!
Yep, the January meeting will be on the 19th at Franklin Park Conservatory. We usually begin arriving between 7 and 7:30...meeting start time is 8pm. We meet in one of the downstairs classrooms...easy to find but if you have any trouble, there are always security people around to point you in the right direction.
We have a great speaker planned for this month...Edgar Stehli of Windswept in Time Orchids. I'm not sure what the speaking topic will be but he never disappoints so it's sure to be very interesting. Bonus!-He always, always, always has an interesting bunch of orchids for sale.

Oh, lucky you! Edgar is good! He will, no doubt, bring some great plants to sell, too.

I went to the meeting with my husband. I came home with 2 plants to try not to kill. By the time it was over, it was past our bedtime, and my husband was super anxious to get going because we get up early for work, so I didn't fill out the form and pay to join yet. I'm planning to do that next month.
It was very nice to meet the members and rather comforting that killing orchids seems to be the norm.

This is a nice group of people. Their annual orchid show is very well attended. The monthly meeting for most orchid societies, like this and my own society here in Fort Wayne, Indiana, are dedicated to providing information about different orchids and how to care for them, so that they can live long lives in your care.
But it does seem like it's the norm. I think if you continue to attend these monthly meeting and interact with other attendees, their is a lot of knowledge being shared. Eventually, you might even become an expert too?
What are the two orchids you brought home?

I found some grammar problems in my post such as "their" instead of "there" or "meeting" instead of "meetings" but I could not find a way of editing my post. Is this feature disabled for iPad/Tapatalk users?

I'm in love with this Paphiopedilum's foliage. If it never bloomed again, I would still love it.
