Update:
I've received my credit from Mike at EOoM and will be returning the plant to him on Monday. |
Yours looks like a plant I saw years ago when I worked for Holmes Nurseries in Tampa, Florida. It was kept in a steel cage (pub. stunt) and labeled as Per. lindenii. It was supposed to be extremely rare and valuable.
Then again, there are about twelve species of Per. so I could be wrong (but only 90% of the time). |
Ok,
I have this huge P. elata that I got from EFG orchids. Now I am questioning whether the plant is who it claims to be:hmm . Since mine was as big as yours, Susanne, and I really didn't know that P. elata could ever be this honkin' huge.....I am wondering..... Does anyone know how big these plants can get:shock:? Do I need to get a bigger greenhouse  ? Susanne, Glad you got your money back. Maybe it can be put towards the real thing?? |
Hi Vanessa,
I was told that without the downward growing spike on mine, the plant looks exactly as elata would so it's most likely the right plant. What happened to me was just a fluke and I'm sure it was unintentional. EOoM is really a great place to buy from. |
:whew Well, that's good to know. Seriously, are you going to try to find another?
|
Of course! :coverlaugh:
|
I just bought one from a vendor on E-bay. :)
|
Which vendor, peewee?
|
lemme check.
