Pea-Sized Growth Anomaly on my Phalaeonopsis

The one on the left does appear to be a spike, the best I can tell from the pic. The one on the right, I just don't know. Only time will tell.

I think your is flower spike it grow very slow because it is winter now

This is a nice picture showing the growth of the flower spike and the "unknown" growth anomaly

The growth node slowed down considerably ever since it got colder. As far as size is concerned it remained relatively the same although now new structures have formed and instead of a lump of mass... it appears to have several distinguishing form.

It looks like an ingrown spike to me. I don't think there is much you can do for this one. Is it causing damage to the base of the plant? You might razor it off to relieve pressure.
