New growth is dumping a bunch of root nubbins. time for a repot so I had to detangle and pull this big boy off the grow shelf:

One time he leapt up and broke off the spike of a Rossioglossum "Rawdon Jester" with 6 giant flowers about to bloom.... but these roots were safely tucked in the watering tray.

Been busy lately, so hadn't posted anything in a good while, but I have a few good photos to share here...

The monster plant in the first two photos is my Cattleya Amethystoglossa 4N, the third one is a Cattleya Marilyn Lew I got last year from Ecuagenera. It came with almost no roots and has clearly established well in the moss / clay pot. The third plant is a Cattleya Leuddemaniana Rubra that has so much pigment in its genes that even it's roots are red.
