I have a question. I wasn't familiar with this plant so looked it up. It appears in the wild to grow on top of rocks or on top of the ground. Couldn't you take a big plant tray, drill some holes in the bottom of the tray, put scoria in the tray and plunk it on top? In other words, let it grow shallower? Then you could hang it? Just a question...

I always grew it in a soil mix because it like water but that’s a dandy idea too

I can also send you a small keiki next round. It’s not on Steve’s level but it’ll get ya started

Yep, that's one way to grow it! My understanding is this one is not picky about what it grows in!

That's how mine started! I got a single growth keiki. The original owner asked me earlier in the year, "is that one I gave you from my collection?!" I don't think he grows his as bright as mine. lol

How fun! You know I'm game Coconut. How wet is wet? Like Phrag wet?

DirtyCoconuts 08-03-2020 10:01 AM

Hard to compare bc it is terrestrial but in a lava rock tray I’d treat it as semi hydro and keep it moist at all times.

Pretty cool idea. I’m excited to see it
