One time he leapt up and broke off the spike of a Rossioglossum "Rawdon Jester" with 6 giant flowers about to bloom.... but these roots were safely tucked in the watering tray.

I did my best to fold what roots I could back into the pot but I only bought myself a year with this repot. My issue with this plant is that it is so big and requires so much more water than my other Cattleya I have been struggling to keep up with it which is one reason why it's gotten so big without blooming.

LOL... pretty sure the plant won that round. I would plop it into a basket then leave the door to your grow space closed so it doesn't walk away.

The one to the right in that picture looks like it's vying for some root porn attention of its own.

No cats doing anything dramatic. A couple new growths beginning to push out. No new roots yet. Most of the minis are plodding along nicely.

Been busy lately, so hadn't posted anything in a good while, but I have a few good photos to share here...

The monster plant in the first two photos is my Cattleya Amethystoglossa 4N, the third one is a Cattleya Marilyn Lew I got last year from Ecuagenera. It came with almost no roots and has clearly established well in the moss / clay pot. The third plant is a Cattleya Leuddemaniana Rubra that has so much pigment in its genes that even it's roots are red.
