That is one happy plant! I wouldn't bother trying to repot, just put the whole thing into a larger pot, no more medium. The space between the pots has enough extra humidity to make roots extremely happy. Santa Barbara Orchid Estate, a grower near me, does that... I have bought plants that, on repotting, had 5 or 6 pots-within-pots and roots-roots.

Roberta, you just read my mind ...I am dealing with pot size, and the fact of adding more medium or not. The problem is that I don't find a lot of widths pot around here and the ones I got are way too wide to just drop it without any medium. My second option was a clay pot, but I never use straight a clay pot, just as a second pot.

Or do you mean, without breaking the actual pot? 🤔
I normally have them inside a Clay pot.

I think those look great. Just let them run wild. The roots don't really need anything except to be protected from bumping, and to keep them somewhat organized. The clay pots will also hold some moisture when you water. I don't think any medium is needed. I have found that Catts grow best once they escape the pot, which tells me they didn't want to be in one.

Yep, those roots are amazing. And Ben's breeding lines are so good. I can't wait to see his lists each new month!

cattleya (now guarianthe) skinneri 'Waldor'. I guess I should be happy the cattleyas are putting out roots but now they are starting to root into their neighbor's pots!

Ah, lovely pics as usual from this thread! I wonder if birds ever eat the red root tips of orchids in situ.. They sure do look like tasty little berries
