actually I was leading the wayward roots back into moss for a little weave. roots get weaves too.

the other side of root porn was bud porn :)

Here's a "before and after" of a very happy coerulea hybrid: C. Sea Breeze x Lc. Lois McNeil. I can't find pictures of this cross but both parents are beautiful!

I left this cattleya at my parents' home probably a decade ago and cut off a nearly rootless piece back in December just to practice rooting divisions. Today, I had to cut the plastic pot off the root system to slip-pot into a larger container. This is one happy plant!

I'm ready to see blooms on this one!

Hygrochilus parishii/Phal. hygrochila...I don't have the vocabulary to really describe fragrance... it is not strong, but sweet and pleasant. Stronger when it's sunny and warm. It's still in bloom - first flowers opened May 25 - but as flowers age they tend to lose fragrance, and for the moment it is cloudy and cool so I'm not getting anything. Will check later in the day to see if any develops to give a better description.

Oooh! For some reason, the lack of any pattern or texture on those squishy roots reminds me of gummy worms... Though I'm sure they wouldnt taste the same
