There are four pics so I am not certain which is the middle lol
They are a Phalaenopsis, I think cornu cervi yellow and bulbophyllum lobbi (2 and 3)

thx DC, it's the bulbophyllum, haven't got any of those yet.
Lovely looking thing.
This is my prostechea garciana which is getting ready to flower in December! I think that was my lack of light causing this one to not do well, now it receives very high light and the roots are taking off.

So a while ago I remembered seeing a new flower spike. I went to check on the flower spike and although it looks like it's growing that has actually stalled, probably just waiting for spring which is fine. but what amazed me was the root growth since I last checked. It's like this one was fed some steroids. I tried to capture as many of the new roots as I could on this picture, it's hard to see, there's actually 5 new roots coming out of the stem, one just to the right of the 3 chunky ones and there is one starting to poke out right underneath the flower stem. Then on the other side it's the same amount again.

this one is a hoot- if you look you will notice the two branches are equal distance from the plant, it is not really mounted as much as in a web of its own roots!!

Gorgeous roots! I also have some that grow better once they escape from the pot. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow. Who can argue with success?

stephen, I've moved on to measuring pseudobulb diameter
I was going to joke, "boy or girl" when I saw the latest "bumb" on the pseudobulb. I was like whoa what is going on?
But the more I observe it and have thought about it the more I have concluded this Catt is working out, like Arnie it has developed a biceps bulge because of how it is growing. I don't stake my pseudobulbs so you can imagine there will be a huge strain on the connection at the base hence my conclusion this pseudobulb is working out, getting ready to support the huge flowering I am expecting next year
