Here's my mini phal that has been in water culture for about 2 years. Bloomed for me twice.

For some reason I can't post my image.

Try again after a few posts. I think there’s a spam security measure that doesn’t permit picture posting until after a certain number of posts.

Or the image file is too large? You can try resizing it and post again. Alternatively, you can upload the photo here (no account necessary): ImgBB — Upload Image — Free Image Hosting and then paste into a post the bbcode it generates. Works well, and other people on OB use that.

Not very easily! With my Phal (posted earlier), I soaked the roots, got a larger pot, carefully wound the roots into some sort of form that would go into the pot, and then used a blunt bamboo skewer to poke and proke bark chips down between all the roots...

Here are a couple of pictures of those beloved roots
Photo 1,2 hybrid dendrobium, no medium, just hanging on a wire
Photo 3 cattleya roots, what happens when you don’t move your plants from time to time. And it is time to repot.

I use orchiata bark so my plants usually outgrow the pot before the media breaks down, so I usually just take the existing pot, throw it in a larger pot, and add media.
