Hi Ray! I admit I went above the recommended concentration and used Kelpak at 1.5 tablespoons/gal. The first day I applied it was on July, 5th and then repeated at the next two waterings which were 4 days later. Here are some update pics. I believe your optimal growth regimen has made a huge difference, thank you!

was time to take it out the pot and root check. plant bloomed 3 flowers all male and some ugly monsters too. Didnt bother take pics of flowers. Maybe next time for Louise Clark. She had good roots and enough light. Too many snails chewed on my catesetums. Have to learn better how to keep snails from eating them.

I was worried about this plant over the summer as it got a little on the yellow side. It must have just been making roots :)

and the anceps put out some new stuff too.

Catasetum Maquiabelo from earlier this year. It's even in a larger pot than the previous year, but I guess that wasn't enough. Meanwhile, the overly-modest Cycnodes next to it has barely put any roots outside its media.

needed a new home so here is the new home. its one of those better off in a basket. spreads out and the canes droop. Its a much more comfortable plant in a basket and the roots can reach out beyond it. Not get wrapped up in a oogly old clay pot!!

Say RJ, is there any chance you might have a past picture of that one in bloom? Thanks ahead of time if so and thanks for all the root porn pics!,

I do not have a pic of it flowering bec the snails ate the buds before I got to eat the snails.

maybe this year she grows well and how can you not like a plant named after Freds dear mom.

:)

I have a few crazy growing roots in several plants. The one in a vase is a Cat. Intermedia, two pictures of a youg laelia Anceps that embraces a cork oak branch and a nobilior also embracing cork bark. Now they are very actively growing. I water them everyday, normally once in the morning as the saun start to show in their faces. They look promising, although they are young plants, some of them might bloom next season.
Hope you like them

I've never seen anything like that on a cat.
