I really love this species, and already killed 2 mounted plants. I just don't have high enough humidity for mounts, and often can't keep up with watering needs. The beauty of this system I discovered completely by accident (repotting procrastination) is that while it like water every 1-2 days, being in a pot means that it's also far for forgiving if I don't water for 4-5 days.

Cym. kanran roots are over 12'' long and as thick as my fingers However, finding a suitable pot that is not too big in the US is a real challenge.

i use weird pot bc i think the typical cym pots are wayyyy too small---or 2-3 gallon landscaping pots

Here is what I found when I unpotted this Cym.... lots and lots of good roots, with a bunch of new ones coming along. It had been in the pot for about 4 years, I knew that it was due,because I was getting a lot of weeds, which grow especially well when the bark is starting to break down. Indeed, the mix had pretty much turned to dirt, was very wet.

That's why it was out of the pot! Plenty more where that one came from... Just bought another 3 cubic ft. bag of bark. I have my work cut out for me...
